Yea, I like the NLT too.  I've used it before.  I guess I just prefer the ESV since it works in a multitude of areas for reading, study, and memorization.  I'm also a fan of the "Message" too as a reading bible.

		<description>Have you ever tried the New Living?  As a bible to read rather than for in-depth study, I've found it demystifies some of the 'bible-speak' language.  I'm leading a Bible Study at the moment, with people who know the bible, but often don't understand some of the concepts.  I've found that if I read from the NIV, then the New Living, they say 'oh that's what it means'.  Eg 'justified' in Romans 5:1 being 'made right with God'.  It's not the closest to the original text, but it reads really well.  I'll try the ESV when I'm next preparing to preach (it's on biblegateway.com), you'll find the NLT on there too.</description>
